How to Train an AI to Answer Your DMs

An AI that answers your DMs is only as good as what you teach it. The good news: you don't need data science — just a clear set of questions and answers in your own words. Here's how to build a knowledge base that lets AI handle your inbox accurately and on-brand.

Start with your real questions

Open your DMs and list the questions you answer over and over: pricing, delivery, how something works, whether you take custom orders. These are your highest-value training inputs because they're what people actually ask.

Give it your voice

Tone matters as much as facts. If you're warm and casual, write your answers that way — the AI mirrors the style of your knowledge base. A few example replies in your natural voice go a long way toward making the bot sound like you and not a call center.

Test, then trust

Before going live, message your own Page or account and run through the common questions. Fix any answer that's off, then let it run. Review real conversations weekly and add anything it missed to the knowledge base — the bot gets better the more you feed it.
